So I took off Thursday and Friday from work last week to prepare for school. I had books to get, Christmas decorations to take down, thank yous to write, and a myriad of other things. Of course, Wednesday night I begin to feel under the weather. By Thursday morning I had a full blown cold! I’m talking an extremely bad cold. I was practically a slug from Thursday until Saturday. On Saturday I began to feel better and even managed to go see Eragon (which I enjoyed). By Sunday afternoon I was much much better. Alas, a long weekend was wasted for this. Argh! Now I am back in school. I hope this semester goes well. It should be a doozy!

This is my first journal entry as a TWENTY year old! I don’t think I can handle the excitement. Can you?! My birthday was fun (with the exception of being at work). My parents plus Mike picked me up after work and we went to Bahama Breeze. It is quite a trek from Bay Village so I was praying that my parents like it or else I would feel terrible. They loved it! I was so happy! Then we went home, all the while singing songs with Mike’s ipod. My parents were absolutely amazed by that little gizmo. We had a yummy chocolate cake and I opened a whole pile of wonderful presents. I am depressed that I am no longer a teenager though…

Of course this phrase isn’t new or original but it bears repeating. In fact I should say that I have decided not to resolve anything for the statement in itself is contradictory. Why does anyone make resolutions? I understand the concept but I wonder about how many are fully kept. The whole joke around resolutions is that they won’t be kept. That’s not very encouraging is it? To fail at a resolution may make one completely give up on the goal. They already messed it up so what is the point of starting again to fail. But, if it was only a goal and not a resolution, would one strive to begin again because nothing was lost? Hmmm….
