So my Chinese friend, Sheng, is such a gentleman. I happened to tell him that I had to go and buy my logic book. He asked me what book it was. I told him it was the one with 3 floating rocks on it. He said that he used it last semester for his class and he would be happy to let me borrow it. HE SAVED ME ABOUT 90 DOLLARS! ISN’T HE SUPER?
As an aside, I saw High School Musical tonight. It was cute but certainly not worth the hubbub that everyone made over it. I still vote for Sky High as the best high school themed movie.

School has begun and it looks like a rather interesting semester. My logic teacher is so unbelievably boring it is like a cliche of the droning professors on teen movies. My chemistry teacher is a man I saw a lot of last fall because he taught the class before my astronomy class which was in the same room. I found it humorous that as soon as his class was over, every girl in the class swarmed him. He is tall, young, and kinda cute but I think that he is mostly goofy lookin. My two computer/Toledo courses are taught by this crazy, spunky woman who instantly pointed out to everyone that I was the only girl in the class. Of course I felt every pale-skinned, pimple face stare bore a hole into my neck. I wonder if any of them has seen a girl other than their mothers, actually I am just joking they are all really nice guys and they aren’t pimply. I was just playing to the stereotypical image of computer nerds.
Anyway, this is entitled L-Dub Memories because I have to write an autobiography of my computering past. I couldn’t remember if I was awarded Computer Artist of the Year and I thought I would look in the senior yearbook. Of course as soon as I opened it I totally forgot what I was looking for and took a nice journey down memory lane. Man there were some great times! All the drama! (*sigh*) Plus, I’ve been seeing some kids from the 06 class wandering around the LCCC campus: Nick Zender, Steve Argento, and this one drummer kid that may have gotten expelled. I also ran into Zach Hudoc and Shaina which was interesting… I kinda smiled at her to acknowledge her presence but then walked on by in a you- made-people-miserable walk.
My friends of this semester are from my computer classes. In fact they are in all of my classes. I don’t know the one kid’s name. He’s rather ugly but nice. The other kid’s name is Sheng and he is definitely chinese. I’m talking he was born and raised in China until he was 14. How cool is that!? Slowly but surely the other guys in the class are warming up to me. It’s odd being the only girl. But my teacher is a female and she feels my pain so that’s nice. All in all I think things will go well.

Yesterday when I got home from work no one was there. I thought to myself this is odd. Someone is always home when I get there. Finally, I found a note that said that my parentals were off to buy a new car! How exciting is that?! Last year, about this time, we added Mom’s car (aka Pooch aka USS Pooch aka Pooch: The Wonder Horse) but Dad’s car is actually from the 21st century. It’s a 2001 GMC Jimmy! That’s right folks! The quaint family of the VanScyocs now has an SUV. After much deliberation, Father and I christened it G-Mac based off of the GMC. We thought it was ghetto. It’s really pretty and it looks brand new. I love it and I am jealous. I better not speak too loudly though because Ol’ Blue is still a fine car and I love her so.

“The spirits of the air live in the smells
Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.”
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,
Then rose, girded himself, and o’er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.
An Excerpt from “To Autumn” by William Blake
This morning was absolutely gorgeous! It was just slightly chilly with a rich, fresh smell which invigorated me right down to my toes. Oh how I long for fall! I know that I am a little early, but I am getting excited. The crunchy leaves underfoot. The smell of distant wood fires. The slight chill which is perfect for a light sweater/sweatshirt and a cup of warm cider. I can’t take it!

Last night was one of the most fabulous times I have had all summer! All of my girlfriends, excepting poor Erica, plus my boyfriend had a cookout at Emma’s house. It felt so incredibly good seeing them all and I truly loved every second of it. This year I have to stay in better touch with them all. Hearing about all the different adventures and stories made me feel like I was at home with them. I will miss them terribly this coming year and must hang out with them more when they are in town and next summer. (Sigh) Good times! Thanks again to all you girls, even though I know you won’t all read this, for being such wonderful friends! Friends such as yourselves are a rare treat and I consider myself blessed to have known you. I love you all!

My office is basically a cave, even though it is in a skyscraper and is technically the contradescription of a cave, but it has a window. Now I know what you are thinking. OOOOOHHH! A window is fancy! Alas, it a window to the INSIDE facing filing cabinets. There is also a little hallway which is moderately frequented by other employees. Well my esteemed colleague, Kristie, was demonstrating a sassy spanishy line dance and a person walked by and saw her dancing in our room. He laughed then poked his head around the corner to see some more. Of course by this time Kristie and myself have tears in our eyes from laughing. Oh dear…we should probably get back to work but we can’t stop wiggling our hips
